Overview
The Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation drives Mauritius’s digital-transformation agenda. The MauPass National Authentication Framework provides secure, centralised authentication for citizens and foreigners accessing e-government services: single sign-on with one set of credentials, two-factor authentication, and web and mobile interfaces, integrated with government services plus MauCas payments and the Information Highway.
Outcomes & impact
MauPass simplified access to government services, improved security and trust in digital transactions, and reduced administrative overhead. It positions Mauritius as a regional leader in digital governance and was referenced in the national budget speech as a cornerstone of the digital-identity strategy.
