Overview
nVisionIT developed a field-management solution for the dredging industry. Designed for tablets in online and offline modes, it lets crews on dredging barges capture activities and measurements, which sync to the cloud when connectivity is available and compile into near-real-time management reporting for project managers on land. The UI was tuned so Dredge Masters are not blinded by the app during night shifts.
Outcomes & impact
Insights about the dredging process and ocean-floor environment are now provided far more frequently and accurately than before, when data was captured manually and re-captured at dock weeks later. An Agile approach let the team push changes to a distributed user base and validate fitness for purpose.
