Mauritius Prime Minister's Office

Government Information Service Mobile App

The Mauritius Prime Minister’s Office – Government Information Service (GIS) is the central authority responsible for disseminating official government news, public service announcements, and national updates to citizens and stakeholders. As part of its digital modernization strategy, the GIS has embraced mobile technology to ensure timely, transparent, and accessible communication across the country, reinforcing its role as a trusted source of government information.

The GIS Mobile App project was developed to provide a centralized platform for the public to access official news, communiqués, videos, and live streams directly from the Government of Mauritius. Delivered by nVisionIT, the solution included both a mobile application and a web-based management portal, enabling real-time content publishing and administrative control. The app was engineered using leading mobile development frameworks and optimized for deployment across Android, iOS, and Huawei platforms. It is hosted in the Government Online Centre (GOC) and integrated with backend systems to support secure content delivery, statistical reporting, and user engagement tracking. The project was executed with a strong focus on usability, accessibility, and scalability, ensuring the platform could serve a broad and diverse user base.
